Just days later, on May 5, Denver faced the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. Trailing by 14 points, the Nuggets mounted a furious comeback. In the final seconds, after a series of strategic plays and missed free throws by the Thunder, Gordon found himself open beyond the arc. With ice in his veins, he drained a three-pointer with just three seconds left, sealing a 121–119 win for Denver.
