Job Description

This is a W2 contract opportunity

Duration: 6 months (starting late April)

Hours: 40/week

Location: Hybrid 3 days/week in Plymouth, MN

Pay: $40-$50/hr

Role Summary

The Creative Project Manager will manage end-to-end production of creative work—primarily photo, video, and graphic design—from initial brief and resourcing through delivery and recap.

You will be responsible for turning stakeholder needs into clear, actionable project plans, building realistic timelines and budgets, and keeping cross-functional partners aligned throughout the production process. Day to day, you will work directly with designers, writers, photographers, videographers, and external vendors to move work forward, anticipate and mitigate risks, and ensure every deliverable is on time, on budget, and on brand.

What You’ll Do

  • Own day-to-day project management for assigned creative initiatives across photography, video, and design.
  • Lead project intake by clarifying objectives, scope, deliverables, key milestones, target audiences, and success metrics with requestors.
  • Translate creative briefs into detailed project plans, schedules, and resourcing plans for internal and external partners.
  • Facilitate kickoffs, status meetings, reviews, and post-mortems to keep stakeholders aligned and decisions documented.
  • Manage timelines, dependencies, and approval flows to ensure deliverables meet timing, quality, and brand standards.
  • Track work using project management tools (Monday.com or similar) and maintain accurate, current project documentation.
  • Monitor project budgets, estimate work, manage change requests, and proactively flag scope, timing, or cost risks.
  • Partner with creative, brand, and marketing teams so that all assets are aligned with brand guidelines and campaign strategies.
  • Source, onboard, and manage external creative vendors such as photographers, videographers, and production partners as needed.
  • Support on-set or on-location productions with logistics, including call sheets, schedules, shot lists, and asset tracking.
  • Guide work through post-production (editing, color, retouching, versioning) to final file delivery.
  • Contribute to the refinement of workflows, tools, templates, and best practices that support an efficient, scalable creative operation.
  • Report on project status and performance, sharing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Top Skills & Strengths

  • Proven project management skills spanning planning, prioritization, risk management, and clear communication.
  • Hands-on experience with project management platforms; proficiency with Monday.com is highly preferred.
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate feedback, align stakeholders, and influence without authority.

Background & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in creative project management or creative production, ideally within an in-house creative team or agency environment.
  • Experience managing work for design and content (print, static, and video/photo assets); a digital background is helpful but not required.
  • Solid understanding of production processes for photography, video, and graphic design, from pre-production through post-production.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and stepping into an existing workflow to provide seamless coverage.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

Team Environment

You will join an internal creative and production studio that functions as the in-house agency for the organization. This team develops integrated visual and written content that supports brand storytelling across channels—including campaign imagery, product photography, video content, marketing collateral, and experiential activations. The studio partners closely with brand, marketing, and product stakeholders to ensure all assets reflect a premium, performance-driven identity and a consistent, cohesive brand experience.
