Job Description

A contract position is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a South Portland, ME school setting. This role involves providing occupational therapy services to school-aged children, working collaboratively with educators and therapists to support student development and participation in school activities.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
• Evaluate and document student progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create supportive learning environments.
• Participate in meetings and contribute to individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and school policies.

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• Experience working in school-based settings is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Understanding of pediatric occupational therapy principles and techniques.
