Security Officer Hospital Security / Behavioral Health Facility

Location: Philadelphia, PA Employment Type: Part Time and Per Diem Available Work Setting: Fully Onsite

Schedule

Part Time (16 hours per week)

6:00 AM 2:30 PM (Every Other Weekend Required) 2:00 PM 10:30 PM (Every Other Weekend Required)

Per Diem / On Call Must be available to work at least two of the following shifts based on coverage needs:

  • 6:00 AM 2:30 PM
  • 2:00 PM 10:30 PM
  • 10:00 PM 6:30 AM

Additional shifts may be available for employees interested in picking up extra hours based on departmental needs.

Starting Pay: $16.89 per hour (Compensation is not negotiable)

Overview The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking reliable, professional, and dependable Security Officers to join our Security Department. Security Officers play an essential role in maintaining a safe and secure hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

This position requires individuals who are attentive, dependable, and capable of responding to security situations in a calm and professional manner. Officers will patrol the hospital campus, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and support the overall safety operations of the facility.

We are looking for team members who are committed to reliability, accountability, and maintaining a strong security presence in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to ensure safety and security
  • Monitor entrances and ensure only authorized personnel enter the facility
  • Respond to security calls, emergency codes, and incidents as needed
  • Complete incident reports, security logs, and required documentation
  • Escort staff, patients, and visitors to and from parking areas when necessary
  • Conduct safety checks of doors, windows, and restricted areas
  • Assist with traffic control and maintain clear emergency access routes
  • Utilize appropriate de-escalation techniques when addressing incidents
  • Maintain a visible security presence throughout the hospital campus
  • Provide respectful and professional assistance to patients, staff, and visitors

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one year of security, law enforcement, or related experience required
  • Previous hospital, healthcare, or behavioral health security experience preferred
  • ACT 235 certification strongly preferred
  • Ability to complete CPI or de-escalation training within 30 days of hire
